Summer vacation looks a bit different this year so we're helping you embrace the STAY-cation!
We're all trying to stay closer to home this year and while that might mean your typical summer vacation was canceled, it doesn't mean there's no way to enjoy the summer. So, we've compiled a list of staycation spots within driving distance of Miami. Stay safe and enjoy!
1. OPEN AIR THEATER
The all-new Open Air Theater will offer a socially distanced theater experience on the grounds of Hard Rock Stadium. Guests will have the opportunity to purchase reserved seating for our nightly movie showings. Restaurant-style dining and concessions will be available for purchase. View Movie Schedule.
2. DRIVE UP THEATER
The all-new Hard Rock Stadium drive-in experiences combine what you love about a drive-in movie with being on the field of your favorite NFL stadium. Guests will drive their cars onto the field of Hard Rock Stadium and be given the opportunity to listen to the movie from the comfort of your vehicle OR set up in your assigned "Tailgate Space" directly outside your vehicle while maintaining a 6' distance from all other vehicles and moviegoers. 3. CARPOOL CINEMA
Go back in time with Carpool Cinema Wynwood. The first and only boutique drive-in theater in Wynwood. View Movie Schedule.
4. Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden
An 83-acre botanic garden with extensive collections of rare tropical plants including palms, cycads, flowering trees, and vines. Fairchild opened to the public in 1938. Fairchild is a museum, laboratory, learning center, and conservation research facility whose main role is preserving biodiversity. It has 45,000 members and more than 1,200 volunteers. 5. Vizcaya Museum & Gardens
Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, where you’ll enjoy 10 acres of spectacular Italianate gardens with waterfront views and unique historic interiors filled with artifacts from around the world. Following Miami-Dade County’s New Normal guidelines, Vizcaya is open including select areas of the first floor of the Main House. For tickets and more information visit their website.
6. Deering Estate
The Deering Estate preserves the 1920s era Miami estate of Charles Deering, Chicago industrialist, early preservationist, environmentalist, art collector, philanthropist and first chairman of the International Harvester Company. Nestled along the coast in South Dade, the Deering Estate is a cultural asset and historic site listed on the National Register of Historic Places. As a 21st Century museum destination for tourists and local residents, a variety of signature events, programs, tours and classes are offered throughout the year.
